A love story crossover of Disney’s Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” and Jim from “Treasure Planet - my two favorite Disney characters.
Concept: Belle is sent to work for Jim’s mother at their cafe/bookshop. An exchange of events between Belle and Jim lead to open flirting but hidden love. However, Jim’s mother wants to send him away to an academy to stop his wild acts. After an argument with Belle, Jim decides to go.
When the ship is captured by pirates, Jim is taken aboard as a crewmember. Realizing that the pirates are searching for his father’s heirloom, he leaves it at Belle’s doorstep. As Belle realizes its his sign of goodbye, she stays with her father.
Belle is captured upon the discovery of the heirloom, but she refuses to hand it over. Since Jim knows how to use it, he has to convince Belle to hand over the artifact so she can be let free. At Jim’s cold words, Belle leaves it and is escorted away.
After spending some time at her father’s, Belle decides to go after Jim and convince him to return. Jim - who had been mourning his love of Belle - gets caught up in a struggle of the pirates vying for his heirloom. In an attempt to end the battling, Jim heads for his pirate crew but his craft is shot down and he’s seen falling.
Presuming Jim dead, Belle returns to a docile lifestyle at the end of the struggle, living on the outskirts of the city. The end shows Jim returning.
Clip Details: the video starts with Jim angry and resentful on the pirate craft, as he remembers his argument with Belle before he left.
The video shows Jim regretting how things went, and then flips to a flashback of an angry Belle storming over the yard. Pressing a hand to her chest, she mocks her foolish heart.
Then she mocks something she had stated earlier in her argument with Jim about her being his “stay-at-home wife in waiting”. Proclaiming she doesn’t need him, Belle is unaware that Jim is in the barrel beside her - listening. Belle runs off, leaving Jim in a deep sense of remorse and hurt.
Jim is shown throwing something off ship before the scene flash backs to Belle’s first conversation with Jim about life, adventure, and books - as he’s playing with his father’s heirloom. It progresses to show Jim being escorted home by the police — seeing Belle for the first time. Upon arriving there and making a snooty comment, Belle pulls a face of disgust - making him feel ashamed.
Belle is then seen running for the hilltop outside the small cottage - Jim watching her through the peephole in the barrel. A scene of Belle flirting with Jim gives way to their argument about him leaving.
Jim is seen mourning his memories of Belle upon the pirate ship. Upon returning to her father’s, Belle finds Jim’s heirloom. Realizing that it’s his way of saying goodbye, she takes it and slams the door of her room, falling to cry on her bed. Jim is sitting on the large windowsill outside her room, looking in on her. Seeing that Belle’s in good hands, Jim departs the next day.
Jim remembers what happened earlier that afternoon: standing atop the hill, Belle makes claims that she won’t lose her freedom - unaware that Jim followed her. When she realizes he’s there, Jim tells her that he’s leaving for the academy.
The next day, he looks over the craft railing to see her in the crowd below, seeing him off.
Belle decides to follow Jim, but is promptly captured by the pirates who realize she has his father’s heirloom. Knowing that only Jim knows how to work it, they make a deal with him: he must convince Belle to hand it over and he must use it properly, so she can go free. Upon entering the cell, Jim pertains a cold exterior that sends Belle to tears - leaving the artifact on the floor. Belle is brought away, and Jim watches her departure from an overhead balcony - his hopes for her future faltering at the tears in his eyes.
Jim is seen grim and mournful while on the pirate ship. Both lovers are shown remembering scenes from the other.
Belle decides to find Jim again, and upon discovering him, a short humorous exchange passes between them; giving way to smiles and forgiveness.
The outbreak over the artifact makes Jim aware of the danger of the situation. Sending Belle away on a small craft, he takes off to try and stop the fighting. Jim is seen falling - presumably to his death, as Belle watches horrified.
A while later, Belle is shown living a calm lifestyle, holding a treasured book, while having memories of her lost love. Jim appears at the party his mother decides to hold - alive and well dressed. Belle approaches him, and both minds are filled with memories of good and bad.
In the end, they are shown kissing. (I used a zoomed in clip of Beauty and the Beast for this, but I wanted a happy ending.)
